Getting To Know The Painting Trends In 2022

painting and decorating company

It’s out with the old and in the new! Colours over time come and go and you can especially see this with houses. If you were to look at how houses looked a few years back, you might notice that colours were quite popular. But nowadays when you look at the housing market, you’d find that most of the houses are of similar colour. Trends evolve and with that, comes people’s preference of the colours for their home.

Our team at Premier Painting has seen just new painting trends within the past year. Here are a few trends that we’ve noticed in 2022 so far:

A Splash Of Orange

We’ve started seeing more houses feature orange, especially for their featured walls in their homes. The colour orange was not very common over the past few years however, it seems like this year, we’re bringing it back. Orange goes quite well with black, white, neutral colours, or even just the natural colour of woods. If you’re someone looking to revamp your room to feel a bit more vibrant and bright, orange is the way to go.

Creating An Ocean-Like Palette

Unlike the uprising preference for the colour orange, the ocean-like palette has always been something that people liked. This is probably because blue and whites give a relaxing and calm atmosphere which, for most people, is what they want to feel in their house.

Sticking With Neutrals

Neutral colours like white, grey and beige are very popular with houses because these colours are timeless. White helps create an illusion that the area is a lot more spacious than it actually is and grey and beige go well with any colour.

The Combination Of Sage Green And White

Like the ocean palette, the combination of sage green and white also gives a therapeutic while aesthetically-pleasing feel for the room. Perhaps it is because green is strongly associated with the environment and nature that allows it to evoke calmness.

Picking Colours To Differentiate Rooms

Rather than painting all the rooms the same colours, we have noticed that having different colours in different rooms is also common. With the new concept of working from home for employees, having different colours will set you in the appropriate mood and will help you not have your bedroom and work environment collide into one and allow you to focus better.
